Experience and Knowledge

 

  • Demonstrated experience reporting to a board of directors or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and fundraising.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required and graduate degree in related field preferred.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Minimum of 4 – 7 years in an executive or senior manager role.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Financial Management – develops and operates within an annual budget, protecting the assets of the organization.
  • Organization Management – provides oversight of the maintenance of all facets of the organization.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution – supports the board in the development and execution of strategic objectives.
  • Resource Development – leads the effort to attract financial support to meet current and future resource needs.
  • Building the ATHENA Brand – creates, supports, and protects a strong respected brand.
  • Program Delivery – leads the design, implementation, growth, and evaluation of ATHENA programs/events. 
  • Human Resource Management – leads the ATHENA staff by providing a positive, productive work environment.
  • Board Relations – works with the Executive Committee and board members to provide the resources to meet their needs.
  • External Relations – serves as the chief spokesperson for the agency with external stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the ATHENA International board of directors. 

Miscellaneous

 

  • Position may require irregular hours on a frequent basis.
  • Position may require travel.

      Compensation

 

  • Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
