Diary of a Small Business Owner re-released

Anita F. Brattina chronicles the trials, tribulations and triumphs of becoming a successful entrepreneur in the re-release of her book, "Diary of a Small Business Owner." Documenting the first eleven years of her business, Brattina gives the reader an insider’s view of her experiences as the founder of a start-up enterprise. She candidly reveals how her company, Direct Response Marketing, Inc., grew from potential clients listed on a writing tablet to a $1 million enterprise. The book highlights her experiences as the first business to receive an ATHENA PowerLink panel and the impact that the ATHENA PowerLink year had on her business operations.

Highlighting the lessons learned from her ATHENA PowerLink panel, Anita Brattina timelessly demonstrates the practical applications and the positive influence that the panel had on her life and her business. The ATHENA PowerLink program began in Pittsburgh, PA as an experiment by two businesswomen, Barb Moore and Ilana Diamond. They wanted to help women grow businesses faster and more adeptly by forming a voluntary board of directors that would advise each business for 12 months. In 1999, ATHENA Internatonal (formerly ATHENA Foundation) acquired the rights to the PowerLink program and began to expand ATHENAPowerLink across the United States. The program continues to be successful in helping women entrepreneurs learn how to network better, access capital and implement best practices in achieving economic growth.
