Ares – Radiohead: Number One Without a Record Label

February 23, 2010

As the old saying goes, the more things change the more they stay the same, nowhere else — or during any other time up to now — could a band (regardless of size) have a number one hit without a major record label behind it. But it’s happened. The hugely-popular band, Radiohead, has just witnessed such an event. Bypassing their previous record company altogether and opting to release their latest work as an online download, the latest radiohead album hits number one in uk and us. This is truly an amazing feat and delivers a clear call to the record industry just how powerful the online file sharing world is.
