An anti-fraudulent settlement against Acai scam

July 30, 2009

Well, here’s some exceptionally good news for consumers who’ve been victims of fraudulent online scams, especially the recent victims of the CCN’s Acai scam. But, enough is enough – the Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc, better known as CCN in short, will have to pay for its black-hat online marketing strategies and deceptive tactics.

However, it is an amazing settlement, which takes the form of a Consent Judgment. Under this settlement, CCN will be forced to pay $25,000 to cover the state’s legal and investigation charges, $350,000 in consumer restitution and a whooping one million dollar in civil penalties to the state.

This was a result of hundreds of consumer complaints filed by those who were victims of the smart deceptive tactics of CCN, involving the so-called low-cost Acai “risk-free” trial offers given on the health supplements. Of course, you see countless similar deceiving offers online, but probably CCN had crossed all the limits, and finally they’ll have to pay big time. The owner of CCN, Graham Gibson finally has to shred off over $1,375,000 in this mammoth settlement, thanks to Attorney General Terry Goddard.

Probably this Acai scam will prove to be the only one of its kind offering free Acai samples and then sucking the hard earned money of the innocent customers – long live Terry Goddard!
